Ranae Becker has worked at Benton Development Group (BDG) since spring of 1996.  Ranae states, “some of structure and staff have changed through the years; however, BDG’s focus has stayed the same…  to promote the economic strength and growth of Benton County including its communities, its residents and its businesses”.

Ranae started as a part-time Administrative Assistant while she attended Kirkwood Community College in Vinton, in 1997 she went to full-time, she was promoted to Office Manager in 1998, appointed the Administrator in 2001, and in December 2002 was promoted to Executive Director.

Ranae grew up in Benton County and is a graduate of Washington High School in Vinton.  She was married to her husband (Greg) on June 30, 2007, and they currently reside in their Vinton home. Working at BDG, volunteering, camping, and spending time with her two daughters (Nicole and Natasha Tharp) and step-daughter (Nicole Becker) keep her very busy.

Many great things are happening at BDG and the future looks to hold many new projects that will continue to promote the economic strength and growth of Benton County.
