History
Our History - John Insley Blair founded Blairstown in 1862. In the year 1861 the present site of the village of Blairstown was formed from sections of the farms of Isaiah Morris and Eli Hill. These men gave John Blair 30 acres of land, as a consideration for the location of a railroad station. By the close of 1862 the population of Blairstown was made up of 11 families. Our population today is 682.

Entertainment
Entertainment - Besides a city park, Blairstown also offers a sports court for basketball and tennis enthusiasts, 2 baseball\softball diamonds, rolle bolle courts, a soccer field and our most recent project of a new community center, which was completed in 2004. The new community center includes our public library, city hall, an enclosed gymnasium and a meeting room with a full kitchen. Much planning and hard work has gone into the development and construction of this new facility, a building that our town will enjoy and be proud of for many years to come.

Special Events
Special Events - Blairstown has been hosting their Sauerkraut Days celebration for more than 30 years. The celebration is held on Labor Day weekend and includes such events as a demolition derby, tractor pull, parade, carnival, softball and rolle bolle tournaments, a car show and a stage show. While many volunteers are needed to make this event a success each year the rewards of giving back to the community make it worthwhile.
